What is the difference between the MKII and MKIII machines?

The new MKIII machine is right here in Tasmania using Australian steel.
It uses a modular billet alloy wheel system and inserts which allows you to anneal cases from .17 Hornet – 50 BMG. All these insert are included with the machine.

Each machine is handmade in our own workshop and undergoes extensive testing for the motor and controls and function.
It also has a more compact footprint than the MKII machine.
The MKII is a tried and true workhorse that has been on the market for 5 years.
The machines has a larger capacity than the new as it bigger machine.
The machine uses wheels made from high temp plastic and they cover cases from .17 Hornet – 50 BMG.
The machine will continued to be factory supported into the future for peace of mind, have said that we have very little if any problems with our machines. Most can be fixed with a phone call or email for some guidance on annealing or problem solving.

We are proud to Australian Made and Owned!

What else do I need to start annealing?

You need to supply your own pinflame burner kit. We recommend the
Bernzomatic kit (part # UL100TK). You can use other brands but we have found this to unit to have the best flame. The hole for the torch holder is 13.1mm. Do not use MAPP gas as this is too hot for
annealing

How do determine what insert / case guide I need to use?

To determine which insert / case guide you need to use please refer to the Case Compatibility Chart on page 10. If your cartridge is not listed please contact us and we will advise which insert will be best suited for you.

What is Tempilaq?

Tempilaq is a temperature indicating paint which is use to determine the best speed at which to anneal your brass. 399°c/750°f is the version that is most commonly used with rifle brass annealing.

How much Tempilaq do I need to use?

The paint is applied extremely thin to the outside of the case from the mouth to the shoulder.
Please read the instructions in the manual on how to use Tempilaq.

How often do I need to re-test timing with Tempilaq?

Once you have properly determined the speed at which you need to anneal you particular case, you don't have to do it again. I the only time I would recommend re-testing your speed setting is if you change your burner head.

What speed should I anneal at?

The initial setting at which I would start with to determine the best speed to anneal at; in-conjunction with the use of Tempilaq is 75RPM for 223 and smaller cases and 64RPM for 308 sized cases and above.

What do I do if my cases stop rotating on the wheel while annealing?

Firstly I will say your case is contaminated, this could be oil, cleaning fluid or cleaning media.
You need to ensure your cases are clean prior to use.
If your cases stop rotating whilst being heated, they are leaching oil or cleaning fluid (sonic cleaning fluids can sometimes cause this to happen).
You need to re-clean your cases and also clean your high temperature O-rings (MKIII) or the high temperature silicone coating (MKII) with warm soapy water and allow to dry. Once you have done this you should have no problems.

How often do I need to anneal?

I recommend annealing after every shot, it is quick and easy. The process will lead to greater accuracy, reduced ES and longer cases life.

What reloading process do you recommend?

Fire, De-prime, Stainless Steel Tumble, Anneal, Re-size, Re-load and Fire again. Repeat.

Is there any user serviceable parts / what do I do if I have a problem with my annealer?

There are no user serviceable parts with your annealing machine. If you have a problem with your machine please get in contact with us and we will repair or replace your machine as long as the warranty conditions have been meet.

If I have any other questions about annealing?

Please get in contact with us if you have any question or feedback about the machine.
